10/10/2019.- The 64th Valladolid International Film Festival will soon be hosting one more edition of the 3rd Forum on Women in Spanish Cinema, an event which, under the catchphrase «First Films: The Challenge», will bring together debutant women filmmakers and  consecrated female auteurs like Josefina Molina (the recipient of the 2019 National Film Award and this year’s president of the International Jury). The event has been organised by the 64th edition of Seminci in collaboration with the film magazine Caimán Cuadernos de Cine, and is supported by Spain’s Film Academy, the Association of Women Film and Audiovisual Media Creators (CIMA), represented by Patricia Ferreira, and the Spanish Institute for Cinema and the Audiovisual Arts (ICAA).

The forum will be attended by the following women filmmakers: Carla Simón, Laura Ferrés, Elena Martín, Nely Reguera, Celia Rico, Ana Schulz, Nayra Sanz, Marina Lameiro, Anxos Fazáns, Elena Molina, Alauda Ruíz de Azúa, Leticia Dolera, Laura Jou, Belén Funes, Lucía Alemany, Pilar Palomero, Irene Moray and María Elorza.

For the third year running, the Valladolid Film Festival (Seminci) becomes a meeting place for women involved in the world of cinema. The 2017 forum  foregrounded the scarce female presence in Spain’s film and audiovisual industry, and last year’s discussions revolved around production and the struggle for parity in this field.
