JOAN GONZÀLEZ HERRERO

Director of the DocsBarcelona project, formed by three documentary film festivals in Barcelona, Medellín (Colombia) and Valparaíso (Chile). He has been a member of the Executive Committee of the European Documentary Network (EDN) and was one of the founders of Eurodoc and CinemaNet Europe. He has taught at various Spanish and Latin American universities. He began his professional career in 1976 at TVE, and later founded Televisión de Catalunya and created the program ‘30 Minuts ’. As an executive producer, he has produced more than a hundred documentaries for different TV networks, some of them awarded at festivals such as Berlin, Málaga or Sundance. In 2013 he received the European EDN Award for his contribution to the development of the documentary industry in southern Europe.
