Born in 1980, Audrey Diwan is a French film director of Lebanese origin. She became a scriptwriter after studying journalism and political science. She wrote the screenplay for Cédric Jimenez’s ‘La French’ (2014) with Jean Dujardin, and she is also editor-at-large for the magazine, Stylist. She is a member of Collectif 50/50, a French NGO promoting equality between men and women in the film industry. Her directorial debut film ‘Losing It’ premiered in 2019, and the second one, ‘Happening’ (2021), was awarded with the Golden Lion to the best film at the Venice Film Festival.
