- The first Profestivales21 project, the alliance between the Valladolid, Seville, Malaga and Huelva festivals, will offer schools about twenty films in order to train the audience of the future
- The selection of 8 feature films and 14 short films will be offered in collaboration with the Filmin platform from October 23rd to November 23rd
The Valladolid International Film Week (SEMINCI), the Seville Film Festival, the Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival and the Malaga Film Festival, united under the brand Profestivales21 , join forces to bring the Ventana Cinéfila project to young citizens, with a common goal: the cinematographic training of future spectators to broaden their social outlook and aesthetic sensitivity through recently produced European and Ibero-American films.
Specifically, Ventana Cinéfila, which this year will run from October 23rd to November 23rd, is an educational project that was launched in 2020 by Valladolid Seminci and the Seville European Film Festival in collaboration with Filmin, and in which primary schools and secondary schools in junior and baccalaureate stages participate. We should recall that in its first edition, this initiative reached more than 70,000 young viewers, a figure that gives us an indication of the great reception obtained by this programme in which teachers and students work together from the teaching guides, published in Spanish and English or French, made specifically for each of the films.
22 films
Thus, for this new edition, once again through the Filmin platform, Ventana Cinéfila will offer the participants a selection of twenty films: eight feature films and 14 short films. In their plots the films address aspects of great social relevance such as sexual and family diversity, the challenge of migration and social integration, environmental development and climate emergency and artistic creation, among other issues.
Out of the total of 22 films scheduled, all of European production except one Latin American one, there are five animated films. In addition, it should be noted that several of these productions have won awards at international festivals and have received the backing of specialised critics.
