A HAPPY RETURN TO FILM THEATRES
From the moment ticket sales opened for the 66th edition of Seminci, it became clear that there was a huge desire to return to film theatres under reasonably normal circumstances. After a whole year of severe restrictions, we have given up reaching full seating capacity for health prevention reasons, but we have added a new screening venue and increased the number of screenings to accommodate audience demand. We can only thank you for the interest, enthusiasm and understanding that you have demonstrated day after day.
We are saying goodbye to an edition that has made us forget, at least in part, the limitations imposed during the 65th Film Week and we hope that the next one will already be a totally unbounded celebration of cinema. For now, we still have to hear the verdict of the several juries and enjoy a closing gala intended to honour auteur films that open our eyes to other worlds. Deepa Mehta and her latest work Funny Boy will bring to a close this year’s festival on a day that continues to furnish audiences with nearly forty screenings of titles taking part in the several sections and retrospectives of Seminci. And still tomorrow there will be new opportunities to enjoy the award-winning films and the regained vibe of the Valladolid International Film Festival.
Thank you all for making this possible!
