Jonas Bak presents his feature film ‘Wood and Water’ at Meeting Point

Today Friday, 29th October 2021, the Meeting Point section of the Valladolid International Film Festival welcomed director Jonas Bak and producer Charlotte Lelong, respectively, for the film Wood and Water, a co-production between Germany, France and Hong Kong.

It is a feature film that plays with the boundaries of documentary and fiction. Anke is looking forward to a summer holiday with her children on the Baltic coast, but her son Max, who lives in Hong Kong, cancels his participation. Anke decides to travel there to see him.

“I’ve put my own personal experiences into the film, which is something a lot of first-time directors do, and I was thinking a lot about whether I should set a safe distance between me and the film to protect a little bit but in the end I go all in and also my mother acts in it,” the director laughingly explained.

“I dedicate it to her, and also to the people of Hong Kong, I hope the film gives you something back,” concluded Bak, the director. Producer Charlotte Lelong added: “I hope this film will take you on a little trip to Hong Kong, to the Black Forest in Germany and to the Baltic Sea.”

The Campaign and Wood and Water will have a second screening on Friday 29th at 5pm in the Fundos Hall.
