Paris, 1981. The winds of change are blowing on election night and the French storm the streets, elated. But Élisabeth struggles to share the general mood of optimism. Her marriage is coming to an end and she will now have to support her family. She is distraught, and her father and teenage children are worried that her tears simply will not dry. But what if listening to her emotions could help her to start filling the blank page of her future?
Born in Paris, France, in 1975. He studied in the Production department at La Fémis and graduated in 2004. He then directed three acclaimed medium-length films selected for various sections of the Cannes Film Festival: ‘Charell’ (2006), ‘Primrose Hill’ (2007) and ‘Montparnasse’ (2009). After ‘Memory Lane’ (Locarno Film Festival 2010), ‘This Summer Feeling’ (Rotterdam Film Festival 2016) and ‘Amanda’ (in Official Selection at Venice 2018, winner of the Grand Prize at Tokyo IFF, and two nominations at the César Awards), ‘The Passengers of the Night’ is his fourth feature film.
