La tara

Amparo Aguilar
Argentina / Spain
 - 2022

The Aguilar siblings, the descendants of the famous yet forgotten Aguilar Quartet, find the soundtrack of the only surrealist film shot in Argentina, ‘Tararira’, from 1936. On a round trip between Argentina and Spain, they review historical moments of rupture that were pervaded, inside their family, by artistic and political tensions. Amparo, Mateo, Manuel and Lucas prepare to revisit that family history by enacting different family characters, like the Marx brothers would have done, in order to understand when it was that everything was lost.
