A mysterious plague of mosquitoes razes the kingdom of Khojpuri, ruled with an iron fist by King Bhadrabhoop. The insect bites are causing strange reactions throughout the country, disturbing the morale of the citizens and causing them to resentfully rise up against their monarch. Concerned about the situation, the ruler puts all the tools at his disposal to eradicate the epidemic and sets up a research laboratory where Hunshilal, a young man loyal to the king and his country, arrives. His convictions are put to the test when he falls in love with his colleague Parveen.

He studied film making at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune between 1977-1981. He has produced, directed, and edited several documentaries on varied subjects, ranging from the impact of sustained scarcity on pastoral communities to re-visiting the route of the Salt March, which was a key event in the movement for India’s Independence. He has also worked as independent editor of documentaries and feature films. The cult classic ‘Love in the Time of Malaria’ (1992) was his debut film, and it remains his only fictional work to date.
