Daniel Soares is a Portuguese writer/director, born in Germany. His short films screened at festivals like Telluride, Locarno, Clermont-Ferrand, Hong Kong IFF, Shanghai IFF, Dokufest, Hollyshorts, Santa Barbara FF, Leeds IFF and many others. They were awarded at festivals like Premiers Plans d’Angers (Grand Prix du Jury), IndieLisboa (Best national short film), Zagreb Film Festival (Best international short film), among others. 900 Toneladas, the debut feature film he is currently developing, was selected for the European feature film development programme LIM| Less is more (Groupe Ouest). In parallel to his films, his photography work has been exhibited at the International Center of Photography in New York.
