Fleeing post-war Europe, visionary architect László Toth arrives in the United States to rebuild his life, his work and his marriage to his wife Erzsébet after they were forced to separate during the war due to changing borders and regimes. Alone and in a new country completely unknown to him, László settles in Pennsylvania, where the wealthy and prominent industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren recognises his talent for architecture.
