Aida Folch

She was born in Reus in 1986 and has a sound professional career, making her one of the most promising Spanish actresses. This is confirmed by her participation in nearly 40 films and some successful television series. Her trajectory began in 2002, when she starred in the film ‘The Shanghai Spell’, by director Fernando Trueba, which received six Goya nominations. Shortly afterwards, she was cast in ‘Mondays in the Sun’ (Fernando León de Aranoa, 2002), which won five Goya awards and four nominations for the European Film Awards. In 2008 she became known to the general public thanks to her role as Françoise Alcántara in ‘Cuéntame cómo pasó’. In 2013 she was nominated for a Goya for Best Leading Actress for her role in ‘The Artist and the Model’, which earned Fernando Trueba the Golden Shell for Best Director while she received RNE’s Ojo Crítico Award in the Film category. She has worked in foreign films in English, French and Italian, and her filmography includes titles such as ‘Salvador (Puig Antich)’ (Manuel Huerga, 2006) or ‘25 Carat’ (Patxi Amezcua, 2008), which earned her the award for Best Actress in the ZonaCine section of the Malaga Film Festival, among many others. In recent years she has worked in television series such as ‘Madres. Amor y vida’ or ‘Amar es para siempre’. She recently appeared in Fernando Trueba’s latest film, ‘Haunted Heart’, their third collaboration, in which she stars alongside Matt Dillon, and has two feature films pending release.
