23/10/2019.- On Wednesday, October 23, director and scriptwriter Fernando Méndez-Leite opened the fifth edition of the Young Hispanists, Theorists, and Literature Comparatists Conference organized by the research staff of the Spanish Literature, Literary Theory, and Comparative Literature Department at the University of Valladolid in collaboration with the Valladolid International Film Festival.
The opening ceremony was attended by festival director Javier Angulo. The conference, entitled “Writing Ithaca: literature and exile”, will be held at the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature of the University of Valladolid until October 25, 2019.
This conference aims to continue working towards becoming an annual reference meeting point for researchers, young doctors, and Spanish and Latin American literature specialists, as well as towards opening new approaches in all its dimensions.
