- The American director’s film is based on the novel Mes derniers mots, by Santiago Amigorena
29/10/2020.- The surprise film of the 65th edition of Valladolid International Film Festival is Last Words, a film by American director Jonathan Nossiter. The festival will schedule a session on Saturday 31 October at the Carrión Theatre at 3.30 pm.
This feature film takes the spectator to the future, year 2085, where our planet has become a vast desert. Crops don’t grow and, in the last decade, no babies have been born. However, a group of survivors respond to a calling to meet in Athens, where the film’s narrator, a young African, tries to make the world’s last film.
Last Words is based on Santiago Amigorena’s novel Mes derniers mots, and it was selected for this year’s Cannes festival.
This story of amazing human sensitivity is played by a cast that includes Nick Nolte, Charlotte Rampling, Alba Rohrwacher and Stellan Skarsgård.
