We face the 66th SEMINCI between the normality of 2019 and the survival that marked last year's edition. 2021 is a year for hope, to recover what we had before the pandemic and to improve it. A year to consume the best auteur cinema, much of which was shot during the forced confinement. It is a year of celebration with documentary anniversaries, such as the centenaries of Berlanga and Fernando Fernán Gómez, or the 50th anniversary of the international premiere of ‘A Clockwork Orange’, which arrived in Spain through our festival four years later despite being banned by the dictatorship. It is even a year to remember the appearance of The Beatles 60 years ago. It is a time to recover the memory of terrible events in our recent history, 10 years after the end of ETA?
2021 is a year to take back the pleasure of seeing films in cinemas and to share what we have experienced and felt with friends and fans. An edition to recover the possibility of seeing and listening to directors, actors and actresses comment on their work in films. It is a time to be able to feel again in the silence of the dark room how the senses are activated and feelings are triggered with this auteur cinema (like the one we program at SEMINCI) that usually tells us about reality, human conflicts and what surrounds us, from another angle, with another point of view.
Come and enjoy, taste and savour an authentic menu of ‘gourmet cinema’. The SEMINCI dining room is open to the demanding appetites of the best film palates: yours.
