Helen de Witt

She is a curator specialising in artists’ film and independent cinema. She was previously head of cinemas at the British Film Institute and programmer of the BFI London Film Festival Experimenta. Helen teaches at University Co- llege and Birkbeck University of London and is a visiting lecturer at the National Film and Television School. She has published in film ma- gazines and websites including Sight & Sound, BFI online and Animate Projects, is a regular reviewer for the Journal of Film Preservation and has contributed to a number of books on artists’ film. She is a member of the curatorial collective Club Des Femmes and a Trustee of the Slow Film Festival, London.
