Miriam Allen

Co-founder and director of the Galway Film Fleadh, a festival renowned for its championing of Irish cinema and its ability to attract inter- national filmmakers, now in its 34rd year. She has also been the promoter of the Galway Film Fair, the only film and TV production fair held in Ireland and an event that facilitates an inter- national gathering of investors and producers from the world of film, on the one hand, and of Irish and European filmmakers in general, on the other. She has also founded and edited the publication ‘Film West Magazine’ and is a mem- ber (and founder) of the Galway Film Centre. As a producer, her filmography includes the feature film ‘Budawanny’ (Bob Quinn, 1987) and several documentaries.
