Multidisciplinary artist born in Gibraltar. She has made experimental films since the 1980s when she was based at the London Film-makers’ Co-op. She has directed five feature films, exhibited internationally in museums like Tate Modern and at festivals around the world, including those in New York and London. ‘I Die of Sadness Crying for You’ (2019) had its European premiere at the Seville Film Festival. Her recent feature film ‘Solitude’ (2022), focused on Nico, is a sister film to ‘Maria’ (2023), which explores the transfiguration of Maria Callas as an icon. She also performs vocals and collaborates with other musicians and artists, most recently with electronic musician Gagarin on the soundtrack for ‘Solitude’. She is a reader in Fine Art in the Department of Art at Goldsmiths.
