A multi-award-winning filmmaker and journalist having co-directed with Phil Grabsky ‘My Child- hood, My Country - Twenty Years in Afghanistan’, for which he won a BAFTA for Best Documentary at the 2022 BAFTA TV awards and Time of History’s first prize at the 66th Seminci. Currently he is the Country Director of BBC Media Action in Afghanistan, leading programmes in the country that focus on governance, health, building resilience and humanitarian crisis response —all using trusted media and creative communication. Former BBC’s World Service News Bureau Chief in Kabul, he has over twenty years of journalism and media production experience with well-known news agencies and television networks.
