The Valladolid International Film Festival will promote the work of emerging filmmakers through a series of meetings that will benefit from the presence in the city of the Independent Film Market (MERCI) in order to give young creators participating in ECAM’s initiative The Incubator the opportunity to find distribution for their future projects. ECAM’s specific support scheme provides emerging producers, directors and screenwriters living in Spain with the opportunity to receive specialised advice, mentoring and the resources necessary to develop their film projects, thereby strengthening the country’s audiovisual landscape. This is an initiative that has promoted films like ‘The Rye Horn’ (Jaione Camborda, 2023) and ‘20,000 Species of Bees’ (Estíbaliz Urresola Solaguren, 2023), among many others. The projects selected for this edition are ‘Tres días de verano’, by Álvaro López Alba; ‘Memorial’, by Sergi Pérez; ‘Los olvidados’, by Jorge Cantos; ‘Flores para una madre ausente’, by Ana Puentes Margarito; and ‘Riure’, by Jordi Boquet Claramunt. The meetings, attended by MERCI Valladolid participants and guests, will take place on Wednesday 23 October at the Broadway multiplex.
