In The Allegory of the Cave, Plato reflects on whether one of the prisoners could break free from his chains and escape from the cave. What if that prisoner was Jay, a 7-year-old boy? Filmmaker Alice Rohrwacher and urban artist JR create a metaphorical space filled with a sensitivity that transcends the mundane urban landscape. The framing and poetic photography, along with the delicate acting, convey a unique perspective on the layers of the city, reflecting devices through the image that go from real life to cinema. The authors' previous joint work, Omelia Contadina, won an award at the 65th edition of the SEMINCI.
