She studied filmmaking at the University of Texas at Austin while cutting her teeth as a video journalist for Time Warner News and interning for Richard Linklater at Detour Film. Her directorial projects have won jury awards at SXSW and countless other festivals, while her screenwriting pursuits have won her additional awards and honours at competitions such as LA Comedy Festival, Madrid International Film Festival, BlueCat, Scriptapalooza, ScreenCraft and many more. She brings over 15 years of production experience on movies and TV shows to ‘Bob Trevino Likes It’ (2024), her first feature film. The movie, which won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at SXSW , is inspired by Tracie’s life experiences and a friendship she found when searching for her estranged father online.
