Tracy Laymon directs her first feature film drawing on her own experience, constructing her alter ego in the character of Lily Trevino, an insecure twenty-something who has just been abandoned by her father. She decides to look him up on Facebook and finds a profile matching her father's name, who begins to ‘like’ her photos and comments. She unexpectedly meets Bob Trevino, a man who has recently lost his son and with whom she strikes up a very special friendship. The film, which won an award at the South by Southwest Festival, stars Barbie Ferreira -Euphoria (2019)- and John Leguizamo -Moulin Rouge (2001) and John Wick (2014)- who, with an unusual chemistry, take us into this emotional story about growth, support and mutual healing. A personal drama in which kindness and understanding will be able to combat the trauma of miscommunication and generational distance.
Tracie Laymon

She studied filmmaking at the University of Texas at Austin while cutting her teeth as a video journalist for Time Warner News and interning for Richard Linklater at Detour Film. Her directorial projects have won jury awards at SXSW and countless other festivals, while her screenwriting pursuits have won her additional awards and honours at competitions such as LA Comedy Festival, Madrid International Film Festival, BlueCat, Scriptapalooza, ScreenCraft and many more. She brings over 15 years of production experience on movies and TV shows to ‘Bob Trevino Likes It’ (2024), her first feature film. The movie, which won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at SXSW , is inspired by Tracie’s life experiences and a friendship she found when searching for her estranged father online.
