Sinan, a young lieutenant in the Turkish army, is ordered to hand over his brother Kenan to a military tribunal for a crime he does not know whether he has committed. Türker Süer's first film narrates the claustrophobic 48-hour transfer to the city where the trial is to be held. During the journey, news of the outbreak of the coup d'état arrives and Sinan will see his political convictions and loyalty put to the test by a country that demands ever-tighter obedience, while hatred and violence grow daily. In a night that seems to go on forever, both must decide if they are willing to sacrifice themselves for their duty, or if it is time to defend the family and abandon an outdated system and flee forever.

Türker Süer

He studied directing and screenwriting at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, Germany. During this time, he directed several short films, which were shown at international and national festivals. His graduation short, ‘Brüther’ (2012), was nominated for the First Steps Award and the Max Ophüls Prize, among other awards, and received praise from the German Board of Film Recommendation (FBW). He participated in theBerlinale Talent Campus and received a six-month scholarship at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. His feature film debut, ‘Edge of Night’ (2024), was selected for its world premiere at Venice Orizzonti Extra and for its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
