15-year-old Andrea wants to recover the love of her father, who disappeared from their lives when he divorced her mother. Andrea remembers a loving father and cannot understand why now he does not want to see his children. Tomás and Fidel, her two little brothers, are her tireless companions in this adventure that speaks of love, family and disappointment.
He was born in El Ejido (Almería, Spain) in 1964. He studied Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Granada and graduated in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid. After shooting several shorts and the documentary ‘The Cuban Game’ (2001, Silver Biznaga for best documentary in Malaga), in 2003 he presented in the Zabaltegui section of the San Sebastian Festival his first fiction feature film, ‘The Weakness of the Bolshevik’, which earned him the first of the eight Goya nominations that he has harvested as a director, screenwriter or producer. In 2009 he founded Lagartos Editores and in 2014 he created the production company La Loma Blanca PC. His filmography, selected at festivals around the world, includes feature films such as ‘Malas temporadas’ (2005), ‘Half of Oscar’ (2010), ‘Cannibal’ (2013), ‘The Motive’ (2017) and ‘The Daughter’ (2021), which have accumulated 23 Goya nominations. In 2019 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award granted by Andalusia’s public broadcaster Canal Sur.
