Alma’s daughter has been missing for three years. Since she lost her, Alma has been tirelessly searching for her, putting up posters or supporting brigades and groups of mothers who experience the same trauma whenever she is not working in the restaurant she runs in Tlatelolco, Mexico City. One day she is visited by a woman from the public prosecutor’s office who is in charge of the investigation. The woman gives her the opportunity to find out who is to blame for this painful absence. Now she must decide whether or not to take justice into her own hands.
Born in Mexico City in 1977, he studied at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (Unam) and trained in Filmmaking in Barcelona. He has worked as an assistant director for more than thirteen years on some thirty films and series with directors such as Arturo Ripstein, Julián Hernández, Carlos Carrera and José Luis Valle. In 2018 he produced the feature film ‘El silencio es bienvenido’ by Gabriela García Rivas. ‘El grosor del polvo’ is his feature debut, after directing the shorts ‘El día llega despacio’ (2006), ‘Año bisiesto o El corazón azul del alumbrado’ (2007), ‘Noche de bodas’ (2008) and ‘Un, dos. Un, dos, tres, cuatro’ (2017).
