A young film director, returns to her family village after a terrorist alert is triggered. As she films her family members in their power dynamics, she comes to understand that they are more connected to this event than she originally thought. Through the making of a short documentary, she becomes closer to her dad Patrick, 62, and her cousin Faustine, 17, who share the same dream: leaving the village.
Born in France, she studied Cinema at La Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris, and then Film Production in Cannes. She discovered even more about the world of cinema during her professional experiences at the Cannes Film Festival and Roy Andersson’s film production company . In 2016, she traveled to Tokyo, where she shot the art video ‘Memories of Another I’ using self-generative editing. She moved to Sweden in 2017, where she started working for Vilda Bomben Film AB. There, she keeps on creating new narratives, crossing the borders between documentary and fiction. Her filmography includes the shorts ‘Le Jour’ (2018), ‘Excess Will Save Us’ (2019) and ‘Grab Them’ (2020), selected for the Meeting Point section of 65th Valladolid Festival. Her feature film debut, ‘Excess Will Save Us’ (2022), won the Special Jury Prize at the Rotterdam Film Festival.
