After the acclaimed Attenberg (2010, Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival) and Chevalier (2015, Best Film at the Locarno Film Festival), Athina Rachel Tsangari returns with Harvest, an adaptation of Jim Crace's novel Harvest. Tsangari (an exponent of the new wave of Greek cinema alongside Yorgos Lanthimos and Georgis Grigorakis) tells the story of an isolated rural community of indeterminate name and place. The lives of its inhabitants begin to change with the unexpected arrival of three strange characters: a cartographer, an immigrant and a banker. Nature comes alive in the sensual, almost painterly images of Harvest. Shots that accompany the atmosphere of constant mystery, shaping a poetic fable about modernity and its traumas. The cast is led by Caleb Landry Jones (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Nitram) and Harry Melling (The Queen's Gambit, Harry Potter). Produced by Rebecca O'Brien (known for her work with Ken Loach) and directed by Sean Price Williams (director of The Sweet East, Official Section of the 68th SEMINCI).

She was born in Athens (Greece) in 1966. She made her feature film debut with ‘The Slow Business of Going’ (2000), selected at the Thessaloniki Film Festival, and in 2010 her second film, ‘Attenberg’, won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival for Ariane Labed, its leading actress. ‘Chevalier’ (2015) won Best Film at BFI-London and was nominated for Best Foreign Film at the Independent Spirit Awards. Both films were Greece’s official submissions at the Oscars. Lead director/EP on the BBC2/HBO Max series ‘Trigonometry’ (Berlinale Series 2020). Under her banner Haos Film, she produced films for Yorgos Lanthimos and Georgis Grigorakis, and was co-producer and actor on Richard Linklater’s ‘Before Midnight’.
