The ice at the poles is melting, which will result in enormous rises in sea level and have major consequences for the world. But how fast will it really go? In the Greenland ice sheet we can see our future. The film travels with three pioneering glaciologists on their expeditions into the inland ice of Greenland: the legendary Dorthe Dahl-Jensen, the sensitive, politically engaged Jason Box and the daring, fearless Alun Hubbard.
He has many years of experience in science and nature documentaries. Most recently he shot and produced episodes of DR’s major nature series ‘Wild, Wonderful Denmark’ and the documentary ‘Tracking the Wolf’. He has worked on several programs for Danish broadcasters DR and TV2 such as ‘The Pain Experiment’ and ‘Nature Live’. Together with DTU Space and astrophysicist Anja C. Andersen from the Niels Bohr Institute, he also directed DR’s ‘Live from Space’. He is also the director of ‘The Polar Bear Live’, which was streamed live to 200 TV screens during the COP22 climate summit, and ‘Live from the Depths’, which was again broadcast live from a submarine 40 meters underwater and 100 kilometers offshore at the bottom of the North Sea.
