Born 1983 in Berlin. After working as an assistant in theatre and film, she began studying directing at the HFF Munich, where her short films won several awards. As a scholarship holder of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, she attended the summer school in film dramaturgy at NYU Tisch in New York and began a master’s degree in screen writing at the London Film School in 2015. Her feature film debut ‘Alles ist gut’(2018) won Best Director, Best Acting and the Fipresci Award at the Munich Film Festival, celebrated its international premiere in Locarno where it was awarded Best Debut Film, received the Woman in Motion Award at the Cannes Film Festival, and won the German Film Critics’ Award. Her second feature film ‘Ivo’ (2024), premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and won the Heiner Carow Prize.
