A group of people were invited to read the script of a movie about a romance scammer. As the reading of the script went on, people began to dig into their own stories. Everything was recorded strictly live. The result is a shared reflection on the ideal of romantic love and the extraordinary (and not necessarily positive) influence it exerts on men and women.
Director, editor and media artist born in Barcelona in 1966. She graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, and combined her film work with other formats like performance or video creation. Her filmography, which has toured festivals such as San Sebastian, FID Marsella, MiradasDoc, FIC Valdivia or Mar del Plata, among others, includes the shorts ‘Mi hermana y yo’ (2009), ‘Improvisaciones de una ardilla’ (2017), ‘Respirar, correr, mirar’ (2019) and ‘Las niñas siempre dicen la verdad’ (2021), the medium-length film ‘Sí, señora’ (2012) and the feature films ‘The Jury’ (2012), ‘Basilio Martín Patino. La decimal carta’ (2014) and ‘La estafa del amor (2023). Her exhibitions and video-art creations have been displayed in spaces like La Casa Encendida, CCCB, Tabakalera, Anthology Film Archives (New York), National Gallery of Art (Washington), MNCARS, IVAM or Tate Gallery, among others.
