More than 30,000 elderly people have died from COVID in Spanish nursing homes. 20,000 of these deaths occurred in just four months, from March to June 2020. What happened in these institutions to produce such a level of mortality? The documentary ‘The Cruelest Death’ tells the truth of what happened, including testimonies by the relatives who lost their loved ones, the workers at the nursing homes and experts of all sorts, from lawyers to psychologists.
