The commandant of Auschwitz, Rudolf Höss, and his wife Hedwig strive to build a dream life for their family in a house and garden next to the camp.
He was born in 1965 in London (UK). After completing art school and a degree in Theatre Design, Jonathan Glazer landed a job making film trailers. This led to awarded TV commercials, art projects and music videos, for artists like Massive Attack, Radiohead, Blur or Jamiroquai. Glazer’s feature directing debut was ‘Sexy Beast’ in 2000, which earned Ben Kingsley an Oscar nomination and the European Film Award for Best Actor. He went on to co-write and direct ‘Birth’ in 2004, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, and ‘Under the Skin’ in 2014, nominated for two BAFTA awards. ‘The Zone of Interest’ (2023) had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Grand Prix and the Fipresci Prize, as well as the award for Best Soundtrack.
