Cruz is a grandmother who has not known what an orgasm is for many years, decades now. A deeply religious believer, she never attached any importance to this issue, nor had she even considered that it affected her... until one day when browsing the Internet she begins to feel again desires and feelings that she already believed were extinguished. But, how to reconcile her beliefs with this new sexual and sensual awakening that has suddenly come into her life?
She was born in Venezuela in 1977. She has a degree in Social Communication and graduated from the International Film and Television School of San Antonio de los Baños (EICTV, Cuba) with a major in Film Directing. She also graduated from the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy (Germany) where she specialised in Documentary Filmmaking. As a director, screenwriter and executive producer, she has made a large number of short films and documentaries such as ‘El regreso’ (2013), but it was her fiction debut, ‘Being Impossible’ (2018), that made her known. Distributed by HBO in the United States, the film won the Rainbow Spike at the Valladolid Festival and was selected as Venezuela’s pre- candidate for the 2020 Academy Awards. His latest work, ‘Mamacruz’ (2023), had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
