Born in 1958 in A Coruña, his long career spans more than three decades as a director, producer and scriptwriter. In 1990 he released ‘Continental’, his first feature film, with which he was nominated for the Goya Award for Best New Director. His second feature, ‘Finisterre’ (1998), competed in the Official Section of the 43th edition of Seminci. His filmography also includes feature films such as ‘When the Bell Chimed 13’ (2003), ‘Gitanos de Buenos Aires’ (2010, co-directed with Regina Álvarez) and ‘The Sex of the Angels’ (2012).
