She was born in Madrid in 1983 and has written, directed and produced more than thirty feature films and non-fiction series for networks such as ARTE, France 3, RTVE and Al Jazeera, among others. A specialist in the Arab world, she often seeks to reflect complex social realities in her work. In 2018 her first documentary short film, ‘La carta de Zahra’, which could be seen in Valladolid’s Time of History, and in 2020 she won the Silver Biznaga and the Audience award at the Málaga Festival with ‘Cartas mojadas’, her first feature film, which was nominated for the Goya, Forqué and Platino awards. In 2022 she was honoured in Los Angeles with the title of Global Emerging Filmmaker by the International Documentary Association and Netflix, to support her second feature, ‘My Brother Ali’.
