Maryam Moghaddam was born in Tehran. She is an actress, screenwriter and director. She graduated from the Performing Arts School of Gothenburg, Sweden. She has worked asan actress in various Swedish theatres. She starred in a number of Iranian films, including Jafar Panahi and Kambuzia Partovi’s ‘Closed Curtain’, which won the Silver Bear at Berlin International Film Festival in 2013. Behtash Sanaeeha was born in Shiraz, Iran. After completing his degree in Architecture, he began writing scripts and directing short films, documentaries and commercials. His first fiction feature was ‘Risk of Acid Rain’ (2015), with a script co-written by himself and Maryam Moghaddam, and later they co-directed the documentary feature ‘The Invincible Diplomacy of Mr Naderi’ (2017). Their following work, ‘Ballad of a White Cow’ (2021), premiered in Berlin and won the Pilar Miró award for best new director at Seminci. ‘My Favourite Cake’ (2024) premiered again at the Berlinale, where it won the critics’ award.
