The bus which brings a variety company across Spain on their way back to France stops in a small town called Medina del Zarzal. They are travelling from one provincial capital to another when suddenly Jacqueline, perhaps the most beautiful of all the foreign showgirls in the Parfum de Paris ballet, falls ill and has to be hospitalized urgently. While the rest of the company continues their journey, Dr. Enrique has to operate on her for acute appendicitis. The young French woman will revolutionise everyday life in the town, while awakening the dormant passions of the doctor, who tries to retain her by extending her convalescence.
