Shirin, a young Turkish farmer, flees an arranged marriage in her country and travels to Cologne in search of Mahmud, the man she has considered her fiancé since she was a girl. Little by little, she adapts to a world that is completely foreign to her, she learns the language and gets used to the hard work in the factory. When she is fired, she is left on the streets without a residence permit and without money, and she is forced to work as a prostitute, under the control of a German pimp.
